Using brush and palette knife, Judith Carr creates daring acrylic paintings on canvas. Her abstract ocean series, with its diffused lighting, reveals the soothing melding of sea and sky. Her abstract expressionist series is highly textured and dramatic. It is bold and colorful, with piercing lines intersecting vibrant colors. Judith is mostly self-taught, though influenced early in life by her artist-father, where art was always being created in the home. Her vision of art has been expanded by her many years of teaching English to foreigners, her travels to Europe, Japan, Turkey, and Egypt, and her knowledge of Greek, Japanese and Spanish. Judith has her home and studio in Santa Monica Canyon, where she is surrounded by an abundance of nature.
